Dynamic logical partitioning (dynamic LPAR)
Dynamic LPAR allows processors and I/O slots to be added to and removed
from Linux partitions running the 2.6 kernel without reboot. This is
implemented on eServer OpenPower, eServer p5, and eServer i5 by the
POWER Hypervisor firmware, which provides hardware resource management,
partitioning, and Capacity Upgrade on Demand (CUoD). The dynamic
movement of memory is currently not supported.
